I have read your story in many different sources since it “broke.” I was so glad that the latest source, HRC, had a link to your site. I have thought about you and your family many times in the past several weeks. I can’t say that I’m astonished by the way the situation played out, but nonetheless it’s horrifying. I’m so sorry you had to go through that, and I’m so sorry that Lisa had no familiar faces surrounding her while she died.

Mostly I wanted to thank you for sharing your story. My family and I are moving to Miami in a few weeks (from Ohio), and, at the very least, my partner and I are now aware how important these documents may be.

Your family’s willingness to share such a personal experience is a true testament to your family’s strength and love. Thank you so much.
